self-preservation
is human instinct. i don't deny having resorted to it but i hate it nevertheless. i hate myself for it. and i think deep inside, we all hate ourselves for it. which in return, results in more self-preservation
well, unless of course if you're an egoistic, self-centered bastard, in which case you do not deserve to be born, much less to live.
